All Women's Defensive Handgun

TBD Location: Angeles Shooting Range Instructor: Brett McQueen Taught by Ms. Brett McQueen, ITTS Director of Training, this course is designed to increase the situational awareness of potentially dangerous situations for women in the home, automobile and outside the home. Handgun manipulation and marksmanship will be covered at length. Students will leave the class with a better understanding of how to avoid becoming a victim and how to protect themselves and their family from a home invasion or other critical situation. Topics covered: · Discussion on the use of deadly force with attendant video · Setting up a "safe" room in your home · California laws regarding carry, ownership and the transport of firearms · Firearms safety on the range and at home · Combat mindset · Handgun selection . Handgun nomenclature & basic functioning of the pistol · Basic tenets of shooting · Presenting the pistol from the holster · Proper loading and unloading · Singles and pairs on paper · Failure drills · Shooting from 50 yards on steel · Engaging reactive targets in a timed sequence Equipment needed: · Cleaned and oiled handgun at least 9mm in caliber (or you can use ours) · Two or more magazines · Sturdy belt to hold the holster · Eye and ear protection. No Prerequisites. Novice shooters welcome. At the end of the course, students will be presented with a special t-shirt and a certificate of completion.
