High Intensity Dynamic and Covert Entry Class

Thursday/Sunday 7:30 - 3:30 Friday/Saturday 2:00 - 10:00 Location: Angeles Shooting Range & other locations Instructor: Scott Reitz & SWAT instructors This intensely dynamic course covers weapons and equipment selection, critical incident management, resolution of barricade and hostage scenarios and warrant service planning and legal overview by court-qualified expert witness, Scott Reitz. Covert individual and team movement, searches and room clearing for active suspects will be demonstrated, learned and applied by the student in force on force scenarios. Topics include entry techniques, movement in hallways and on staircases, and covering numerous threat areas with multiple team members during the clearing of a suspect’s stronghold position. Limited penetrations, arresting command and control techniques, utilization of lights and mirrors and tie downs will also be thoroughly covered. Dynamic entries with extreme close quarter’s engagement and team configurations in the execution of critical warrant service and hostage rescue will be conducted in the same manner. This class will interface live fire along with force on force scenarios utilizing non lethal weapons throughout the course of instruction. Actual gunfights and the lessons learned from over thirty years of LAPD shootings, will be thoroughly covered by head instructor, Scott Reitz, former LAPD SWAT operator and instructor, along with active duty SWAT instructors. Locations of sites to be used will be announced. Prerequisite: Advanced Handgun or equivalent from a recognized firearms school.
